Hello from Orlando, FL, home of Wadeview Baptist Church and springboard for Team Gripton.
Sorry it has been a while to post. I am not the most computer literate person around, and have struggled trying to get back into our blogspot. Finally figured it out!
God has been doing amazing things here in south Orlando. Last night (Thursday 14JUNE12), out mid-week service has grown to 18! That is what our Sunday AM service was a few months ago! One of our new converts brought along a co-worker with him last night and we had a return visit from two teenagers and their younger brother. In all accounts, God is doing a great work in them.
We have started a Reformers Unanimous chapter here to reach out to the addicted in our community, as well as the Winter Park area. I am the Director of the chapter, and my awesome wife, Becky is one of our Challenge Group leaders. It is humbling to see God at work giving freedom to those bound by the sins of drug abuse, alcoholism, cigarettes, pornography, anger and a slew of others.
We have also started an outreach to the retirement centers in our area with good success. Next is a plan to enter the jail and prison systems to preach the gospel there with the intent to offset the fastest growing religion in those systems, that of Islam. To have them experience true freedom that comes only from Jesus Christ would make a tremendous impact on them as well as our community.
Please pray for us as we are in the planning stages of holding our first 3 Day Club; sort of a mini VBS we take to different areas of our community to present Jesus Christ. We also are planning to attend the youth camp and teen conferences to be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church this summer, along with our first Independence Day Picnic.
We are excited and covet your prayers as we continue to present the gospel here in Orlando and also as we look for another facility to use that would allow more flexability for Wadeview Baptist Church.
